⚠️ Before reading be sure to check out the Base Editorial Style Guide
When making posts
- On-Topic: Substantive content about anything you have built, created or used on Base
- Off-Topic: Any content not directly related to Base -- e.g. life blogging (e.g. pictures of food, coffee, pictures of memes with inspirational quotes; deconstructive slants regarding other platforms, communities or networks), token shilling, airdrop spamming, engagement farming
- Engagement farming gets its own bullet :) Don't ask or tell people to like, reply, repost, comment, etc. Let it happen naturally, the hard truth is that the reason people didn't engage with you isn't because you didn't tell them to; make organic content that people become interested in, the only way to get better at it is to keep trying (it doesn't happen overnight, it takes a lot of learning and practice)
When replying to posts
- Be kind, it's ok to be critical but be constructive and positive; be optimistic and be thoughtful and substantive, not less, when content something gets divisive
- When disagreeing, don't put down others and/or call people names, e.g. "You are a moron, this is the dumbest thing I have ever read"
- Avoid making superficial critiques of others' content or work; a meaningful critical comment should offer insight and communicate something valuable
